    Description

Apollo 7 Unflown Silver Robbins Medallion Restrike, Serial Number 298. This 32mm x 24mm sterling silver medal was one of forty-five medallions commissioned by Walt Cunningham in the 1970s and struck by the Robbins Company from the original dies. The original medallions were numbered 1 to 255. The additional medals continued the sequence to 300. The obverse of the medal features the mission insignia depicting a command service module, engine firing with the trail from that fire encircling a globe and extending out, symbolizing the Earth-orbital nature of the mission. The Roman numeral "VII" appears in the South Pacific Ocean and the crew's names appears at the bottom. The reverse has the date of the launch, the serial number, and the sterling and Robbins hallmarks. The original plastic Robbins case with numbered sticker on the bottom is included. Excellent.

We had a wonderful time in New York during the October 2013 Historical Manuscripts auction that featured my mother’s papers collected during her tenure as Martin Luther King, Jr.’s secretary. In fact, the entire experience from beginning to end has been a pleasure.
