    Man's last "deep space" spacewalk

Apollo 17: Collection of Twenty Original NASA "Red Number" Ron Evans' Deep Space EVA Color Photos. All are vintage 10" x 8" chromogenic prints on Kodak fiber-based paper bearing the "A Kodak Paper" watermarks on the verso. A sequence of photos showing Evans as he retrieves film cassettes from the SIM, includes AS17-152: 23357, 23361, 23363, 23364, 23366, 23367, 23368, 23373, 23380, 23381, 23382, 23383, 23385, 23386, 23387, 23388, 23389, 23391, 23392, and 23393. A rare grouping; many are seldom seen. All pristine.

One of the important scientific goals of the last three Apollo flights was to obtain high-resolution panoramic and high quality metric lunar surface photographs, as well as altitude data from lunar orbit, to aid in the overall exploration of the moon. Cameras contained in Apollo 17's Scientific Instrument Module bay included an ITEK Panoramic and a Fairchild lunar mapping camera. It was the job of the command module pilot to retrieve the film take-up cassettes from this bay on the service module early into the trans-earth coast and store them in the command module for return to Earth. Ron Evans performed the film-retrieval function during what was to be the last "deep space" spacewalk ever on December 17, 1972. He spent just over an hour on this EVA that was broadcast back to Earth. From the family collection of the late Donald T. Hamilton, a NASA engineer of 40+ years' service.

The pre and post sales experience was wonderful and flawless. Heritage has the best in-house operation I have ever seen and their people are not only professional but fun to work with, especially Steve C.

As for Heritage's online system… Yes the interface is more complex than what we are used to with SAN but what is behind that interface is amazing for sellers and buyers alike. It is real time and for a real serious auction buyer there is nothing better in the auction industry, bar none.
