    Apollo 14 Flown Beta Cloth Mission Insignia Directly from the Personal Collection of Mission Lunar Module Pilot Edgar Mitchell, Signed and Certified, with Signed LOA. This 9" x 9" mission emblem was flown aboard the Apollo 14 Command Module Kitty Hawk during its nine-day trip to the moon and back. Made of fire resistant Beta cloth developed by Dow-Corning, the 4" x 3.5" insignia depicts a NASA Astronaut Pin flying to the moon. Dr. Mitchell has signed just below the image: "Flown to the moon aboard Kittyhawk/ January 31 to February 9, 1971 on Apollo 14/ Edgar Mitchell LMP". Excellent condition.

    Included with this lot is a signed Letter of Authenticity on his personal letterhead stating, in part: "This document certifies that the accompanying beta cloth mission emblem inscribed with the words 'Flown to the moon aboard Kittyhawk January 31 to February 9, 1971 on Apollo 14' and signed 'Edgar Mitchell LMP' was carried in my personal preference kit (PPK) during the Apollo 14 mission and has been in my personal collection since then."
