Apollo 14 Command Module Flown Embroidered Crew Patch, Presented by Mission Command Module Pilot Stuart Roosa. This 4.5" x 4" mission insignia depicts an astronaut pin flying from the Earth to the moon. A gold band around the edge includes the mission and astronaut names; it was designed by Jean Beaulieu. The patch is mounted to a mat board with two 7" x 8.75" color photos- one of takeoff and one of splashdown. The text reads: "This patch was flown to the moon aboard the Command Module Kittyhawk, on the Apollo 14 mission to Fra Mauro January 31- February 9, 1971." Roosa (1933-1994) has written on the mat beneath: "To Bert - I am very pleased you shared my lift-off with me- It was quite a ride Stuart A Roosa". The patch and the photos are framed to an overall 21.5" x 17.5". This was a presentation by Duke to a personal friend after the flight. Very fine condition with some very light fading to the written portion.
