Apollo 13's descent to Earth, recorded on board as it happened

Apollo 13 Flown "Landing" Checklist Cue Card Directly from the Personal Collection of Mission Commander James Lovell, Signed and Certified, with Signed LOA. An odd-shaped 6.25" x 9" (overall) heavyweight printed cue card with one 0.625" x 0.625" cutout allowing a custom fit in a particular location on the control panel. It is titled "LANDING" at top and dated April 2, 1970, at bottom. There are six strips of Velcro on the verso for mounting and that is where it is signed in black ink: "Landing Check/ list/ James Lovell". This cue card is a checklist listing activities from 90,000 feet to splashdown and post landing. There are numerous detailed notes at the bottom where one of the crew was entering times (elapsed) from 142:40:16 through 142:48:45 which is when the drogue chutes were deployed. The whole world was watching as three brave men worked through the details listed on this card to land Odyssey safely in the Pacific Ocean. Definitely an important historical document. Slightly warping, otherwise very fine.

Included with this lot is a signed Letter of Certification from Lovell on his company letterhead stating, in full: "I certify that this Apollo 13 landing check list was on board the Apollo 13 spacecraft. It was marked on the instrument panel. Apollo 13 perilous flight took off on April 11 and returned safely on April 17, 1970. This placard is from my personal collection of space artifacts and has been in my possession since the mission."
