Apollo 12: Silver Tray Awarded to Mission LMP Alan Bean in Ceylon on the "Bullseye" World Tour in 1970, Originally from His Personal Collection. An odd-shaped repoussé tray of approximately 8" x 12" x 0.625" (overall) with highly-decorative borders featuring elephants and vines. In the center is engraved: "To/ Mr. Alan L. Bean/ Fourth Astranaut [sic]/ From/ S. F. Moulana/ Ceylon Travel Express/ Sri Lanka". Ceylon (now Sri Lanka) was one of the stops on the crew's world tour; legendary author Arthur C. Clarke was one of their escorts while they were there in his adopted homeland. Included with this lot are two reprints of color photos from Bean's collection that were taken in Ceylon. This was a major event for this small country with thousands turning out to greet the astronauts. Some wear and tarnish, overall fine.

The pre and post sales experience was wonderful and flawless. Heritage has the best in-house operation I have ever seen and their people are not only professional but fun to work with, especially Steve C.

As for Heritage's online system… Yes the interface is more complex than what we are used to with SAN but what is behind that interface is amazing for sellers and buyers alike. It is real time and for a real serious auction buyer there is nothing better in the auction industry, bar none.
