"I carried them in my suit as I moved about on the lunar surface during my two moonwalks"

Apollo 12 Lunar Module Flown and Surface-Used Scissors with Lanyard and Snap Directly from the Personal Collection of Mission Lunar Module Pilot Alan Bean, with Handwritten LOA. Measuring 8" in length, this stainless steel cutting tool, manufactured by Weck U.S.A., was used by Bean in the Lunar Module Intrepid and on the lunar surface for various purposes. The part number and serial number are found near the hinge: "P/N SDB42100059-202" and "S/N 1016". The original lanyard and snap are still present with a part number "SDB42100118-702" and serial number "SN 1034". These scissors still in good working order, sharp with good spring tension. An important item used on mankind's second trip to the moon. Excellent.

Included in this lot is a handwritten and signed Letter of Authenticity on his personal letterhead. It reads, in full:
"I hereby certify that the accompanying scissors, serial number 1016, traveled with me to the moon aboard our Command Module, 'Yankee Clipper', descended to the moon aboard our Lunar Module 'Intrepid,' and I carried them in my suit as I moved about on the lunar surface during my two moonwalks.

"The scissors were with me as Pete Conrad, Dick Gordon and I returned to Earth and have been in my personal collection since.
