    "Everything is bigger in Texas"

Apollo 12 Flown Largest Size Texas Flag Originally from the Personal Collection of Mission Lunar Module Pilot Alan Bean, Signed and Certified, with Handwritten Letter of Certification, in Framed Display. This largest size flown Lone Star flag, 18" x 12" in size, flew to the moon in a command module dubbed the Yankee Clipper, accompanying Conrad, Gordon and Bean on the flight of Apollo 12. The silk flag has been signed by Bean in the lower right hand corner, "Flown to the Moon/ Apollo XII Nov. 1969, Alan L Bean". It is beautifully matted in antiqued filets and archivally framed to an overall 24.5" x 30" with an "earthrise" style photo and a handwritten LOC from Bean. A gorgeous display piece ready for the wall of some lucky Texan. Excellent.

Included in this framed display is a handwritten and signed letter from Alan Bean. It reads, in full: "I hereby certify that the 12" x 18" Texas state flag, signed and inscribed by my hand 'Flown to the Moon/ Apollo XII Nov. 1969, Alan L Bean' was stored in my Personal Preference Kit aboard the command module Yankee Clipper. The flag orbited the moon 45 times before being returned to earth. It has been continuously in my possession since splashdown until today when I transferred it to Wayne Edelman. I am presenting this flag to honor the Edelman family... past, present, and future. May they be good caretakers of this artifact from man's first era of lunar exploration. Alan L Bean. 23 January 2002".
