    Description

    Apollo 12 Flown Heat Shield Plug in Lucite Display on Wooden Base Directly from the Estate of NASA Legend Chris Kraft, with Certificate of Authenticity. A 1.25" x 1.25" diameter plug, in a 2.625" tall x 3" diameter clear acrylic cylinder. The acrylic is seated in a wooden desktop display measuring 5" x 7" x 1.25". Engraved on metal plaque below the plug is: "Apollo 12/ Nov. 14-24, 1969". Plugs of this size are not common, especially from this highly collectible mission. Kraft was the Director of Flight Operations at the Manned Space Center up through Apollo 12. At that time, he moved to the title of Deputy Director of the Center and served in that role until his retirement in August 1982.
