    Description

Apollo 12 Flown Flashlight Originally from the Personal Collection of Mission Command Module Pilot Richard Gordon, with Signed COA. A heavy, brass-milled two-cell flashlight, 5.125" in length and with a maximum diameter of 1". The part number "ACR FA 5", serial number "1055", and date of manufacture "7/68" are all printed on the barrel. "On" and "Off" are printed near the head which rotates to turn on and off. A piece of Velcro is attached at the top near the lens. Apollo astronauts were equipped with these small penlights for use throughout their mission. They proved to be quite handy for a variety of tasks. Not tested. There are minor cracks in the lens, otherwise fine condition. From the Steven R. Belasco Collection of Space Memorabilia.

Included with this lot is a signed Certificate of Authenticity from Gordon stating, in full: "This flashlight, Part Number ACR-FA-5, Serial Number 1055, date of Mfg. 7-68, was carried on board the Apollo 12 Command Module Yankee Clipper. It was flown to the Moon during the second lunar landing mission in November 1969. This flashlight was used by me during the flight. It has remained in my personal collection since 1969."

The pre and post sales experience was wonderful and flawless. Heritage has the best in-house operation I have ever seen and their people are not only professional but fun to work with, especially Steve C.

As for Heritage's online system… Yes the interface is more complex than what we are used to with SAN but what is behind that interface is amazing for sellers and buyers alike. It is real time and for a real serious auction buyer there is nothing better in the auction industry, bar none.
