    Description

    Apollo 12 Flown American Flag Originally from the Personal Collection of NASA Protocol Officer Edward S. Barker. A 6" x 4.125" cloth U.S. flag that flew aboard Apollo 12 with crewmembers Charles Conrad, Alan Bean, and Richard Gordon, November 14-24, 1969. Included is a 5" x 3" card with a handwritten note: "Carried on board Apollo 12-not mounted because Congressional visit cancelled." Excellent.

    Included with this lot is a Letter of Authenticity signed by Alan Lipkin stating, in part: "The 6X4.25" flag sold as lot number 947 in the October, 2001 Space Memorabilia Auction of Superior Stamps and Space Memorabilia in Beverly Hills, CA contains a note in the hand of Edward S. Barker... The handwriting on the note matches other handwriting found in the estate of Mr. Barker."
