    Description

Apollo 11 Original NASA Glass Film Slide, a View of U.S. Flag from Lunar Module, Directly From The Armstrong Family Collection™, CAG Certified. A 2" square (sight size) positive transparency, NASA image AS11-37-5480, mounted in a hand-numbered 4" x 3.25" glass slide. This post-EVA photo out Buzz's window shows the U.S. flag, the TV camera, and the cluster of boulders beyond which were probably ejected from West Crater. Note the raised rim on the fresh, young crater in the middle distance beyond and to the right of the TV camera. Rare and desirable. Excellent, sealed in a numbered archival slab, CAG 1001741-005. Included with this lot is a color glossy photo of this image printed from the NASA archives. This lot will include a Statement of Provenance signed by Neil Armstrong's sons, Rick and Mark.

    Learn about consigning with us

We had a wonderful time in New York during the October 2013 Historical Manuscripts auction that featured my mother’s papers collected during her tenure as Martin Luther King, Jr.’s secretary. In fact, the entire experience from beginning to end has been a pleasure.
