    Description

Apollo 11: Deluxe Limited Edition (#3/11) Framed Presentation including a Flown American Flag, a Crew-Signed Insurance Cover, a Crew White Spacesuit NASA Color Photo, and a Crew Patch by Texas Embroidery, all Directly From The Armstrong Family Collection™ and CAG Certified. This awesome display piece is loaded with all the core symbology that we have come to associate with the historic moon-landing mission and includes the following important collectibles:

Apollo 11 Flown American Flag. A 6.25" x 4" silk U.S. flag with red cotton border stitching that was carried to the moon and back aboard the Apollo Command Module Columbia, July 16-24, 1969. Mission-flown U.S. flags are always in demand by Space collectors but this one, preserved by the first man to step on the moon, is a significant relic of an historic event that a collector of any specialty would treasure. Light creasing, excellent. Sealed in a numbered archival sleeve, CAG 1001405-009.

Apollo 11 Crew-Signed "Type One" Insurance Cover. A philatelic cover with the "Apollo 8" 6¢ stamp (Scott #1371) affixed, machine canceled at Houston, Texas, on July 20, 1969, (excellent contrast) the day Apollo 11 landed on the moon. The color cachet features the text: "NASA Manned Spacecraft Center Stamp Club/ Official Commemorative Cover/ First Manned Lunar Exploration" above a colorful moon scene. It is boldly signed to the right in felt tip: "Neil Armstrong", "Michael Collins", and "Buzz Aldrin". A perfect display piece with the crew's signatures. Apollo 11 was the first flight in which insurance covers were utilized. Excellent. Sealed in a numbered archival sleeve, CAG 1000608-006.

Crew White Spacesuit NASA Color Photo. A 10" x 8" NASA litho print, the famous pose. Excellent. Sealed in a numbered archival sleeve, CAG 1000289-019.

Apollo 11 Texas Art Embroidery Crew Patch of the Type Worn on Bio-Garments in Quarantine. A very desirable 4" diameter merrowed edge embroidered patch as was issued only to NASA and the crew, the highest quality of all the Apollo 11 patch variations. Excellent. Sealed in a numbered archival sleeve, CAG 1002083-005.

There were only eleven pieces made of this awesome framed presentation of authentic Apollo 11 material from The Armstrong Family Collection™. This limited edition display piece (#3/11) contains four individually certified items and is professionally and archivally matted and framed to an overall 24" x 20.5", ready for your home or office wall. It contains an item flown aboard Apollo 11, original signatures of all three Apollo 11 crew members, and an original crew patch. This lot will include a Statement of Provenance signed by Neil Armstrong's sons, Rick and Mark.
