    Description

    Ex. Buzz Aldrin

Apollo 11 Crew-Signed "Type Three" Insurance Cover with Mission Insignia Cachet, Presented by Buzz Aldrin to a Family Member. A philatelic cover with the "Apollo 8" 6¢ stamp (Scott #1371) affixed bearing a pictorial machine cancellation from Kennedy Space Center dated July 16, 1969, the day that Apollo 11 was launched. The cachet is a color mission insignia with no added text. To the right are the neat blue felt tip signatures: "Neil Armstrong", "Michael Collins" and "Buzz Aldrin". This was presented to one of his in-laws soon after the mission. Excellent.

Apollo 11 was the first flight in which insurance covers were utilized. They were produced for the crew to sign together before their launch to the moon, and then leave behind with their families as a form of insurance that could be sold should they fail to return. This is one of three "types" of Apollo 11 covers.

The pre and post sales experience was wonderful and flawless. Heritage has the best in-house operation I have ever seen and their people are not only professional but fun to work with, especially Steve C.

As for Heritage's online system… Yes the interface is more complex than what we are used to with SAN but what is behind that interface is amazing for sellers and buyers alike. It is real time and for a real serious auction buyer there is nothing better in the auction industry, bar none.
