    Description

Apollo 11 Crew-Signed Hubbard Medal Award Program, Obtained by a Member of Their Security Detail. A 10" x 10" four page color program for the presentation of the National Geographic Society's Hubbard Medal to the three Apollo 11 astronauts at Constitution Hall in Washington, D.C. on February 16, 1970. It has been signed on the inside in various inks beneath a color photo of the crew in the MQF aboard the U.S.S. Hornet: "Neil Armstrong", "M Collins", and "Buzz Aldrin". This prestigious medal is awarded on an irregular basis for distinction in exploration, discovery and research. Winners previous to Armstrong, Aldrin, and Collins include Robert Peary, Richard E. Byrd, Charles Lindbergh, and John Glenn. A rare item. The program exhibits just light wear, fine.
