    Description

    BRYANT’S MINSTRELS..

Please note: Autographs from the Leonard Finger collection have not been autenticated by Spence/Grad but we believe these autographs to be as stated.

This lot contains a silk souvenir program and two cartes-devisite. The program measures 7 x 11" 159 and was printed for a Dan Bryant benefit performance prior to his departure for Europe, June 25th 1874, at Booth’s Theatre. Bryant portrayed both Black and Irish ethnic stereotypes in this show and performed the popular song "Shoo Fly." The program was a giveaway for Lord & Taylor which claims they "supply the Artists of our leading Theatres and amateur Performers with their elegant and artistic costumes." (two light tape stains at top); else, quite nice. Sold with a cartede- visite portrait of Bryant and a group portrait of him, Ephraim Horn and George Christie.
