    Includes: 12 1/2 x 12" portrait of "The Bowery Girl" chewing pepsin gum signed KETTEN (Italian-born illustrator and cartoonist who worked for the "New York Telegram")–has minor edge wear and loss at one corner, circa 1911. Sold with 14 x 19" ink sketch "Laughs from the Ziegfeld Follies" signed JAMES TREMBATH (reference to the War and Al Smith having built the Empire State Building) and a 15 x 22" ink sketch "Laughs from the ‘New Yorkers’" signed PETERSON MACHAMER (contains a selfportrait of the artist plus several identified actors including Jimmy Durante)–one 2 1/2" border tear. Trembath and Machamer were both well-known caricaturists. These cartoons typcially appeared in the "New Plays" section of NY newspapers. The "New Yorkers" was a Cole Porter show.
