LARGE & SMALL FORMAT PROGRAMS, FOLD-OUTS AND HANDBILLS..

Please note: Autographs from the Leonard Finger collection have not been autenticated by Spence/Grad but we believe these autographs to be as stated.

This lot has thirty-five programs, tickets, flyers, fold-outs, etc. for notable productions of a dramatic or cultural nature, mostly from the 1930s, 40s, and 50s. Some random subjects: 1959 illustrated copy of Jean Genet’s "Les Negres clowneries", flyer for 1921 Carnegie Hall presentation "The Open Door–A Negro Pageant with Music", real photo postcard and fold-out for "Run, Little Chillun!" with the Hall Johnson Choir, flyer for "Harlem!" at the Apollo, 1906 benefit program for the Hampton Institute (Nazimova in her first US tour of Ibsen), flyer for Hilda Simms in "A Lady Passing Fair", 1944 program for the American Negro Theatre in "3 In A Family", original artwork for cover of "Green Pastures" program, and large format programs for "Detective Story" with Sidney Poitier and "Earl" Jones, "House of Flowers" with Pearl Bailey, Katherine Dunham in "Carib Song", "Sol Hurok Presents Marian Anderson", "dePaur’s Infantry Chorus", "Jamaica" and others. Good stuff!

This was my first time dealing with an auction house, and I am 100% completely impressed with Heritage. There is not an aspect of this process that I have a critique for.
