This lot has two groups of theatrical letterheads and correspondence. The first group of approximately fifty pieces has receipts from suppliers, contracts, and promotional letterheads & envelopes. Some of the subjects: Morrow’s High Class Minstrels, Mabel Paige’s "take" for performing in "The Little Egyptian" at Greenwall’s Opera House in Fort Worth circa 1900 (Paige was a popular character actress in Hollywood movies of the '30s and 40s, Sam T. Jack’s Opera House in Chicago, the Olympia Company Gay Amazon’s, The Jolly Roamers Comedy, The Voodoo or a Lucky Charm, The Bowery Detective, 18 Bells, Morosco’s Grand Opera House in San Francisco, The Standard Talking Machine Company, Klaw & Erlanger Managers’ Exchange, etc. Many of these date from the 1890s. Lots of good stuff here. The second group has approximately thirty pieces related to the L. Ebbetts Music Publishing Company consisting of legal documents, letters from other publishers, invoices from printers, and copyright information from the Library of Congress. Also an 1886 passport for Lina Ebbetts signed by Secretary of State F. F. BAYARD with an unbelievable patriotic watermark that takes up the whole document!
