    Rod McKuen's Commemorative Gold Records

    Rod McKuen. Group of four Gold Records commemorating Million Selling Albums. 1974). [disc award ltd.]. All on Stanyan Records label, and includes Albums: Seasons in the Sun, Listen to the Warm, Love's Been Good to Me, and Live in London. Uniformly framed and glazed, and engraved on brass plate at lower left: PRESENTED TO ROD MCKUEN TO COMMEMORATE A MILLION SELLING ALBUM 1974. Made later for display purposes only. Each frame measures approximately 16 x 16 inches. Minor scrapes and scratches, else in excellent condition.
    Rod McKuen was one of the best-selling singers and poets in the United States during the late 1960s, and he also wrote more than 1,500 songs, which together accounted for the sale of over 100 million records worldwide. His songs were performed by superstar singers such as Barbra Streisand, Perry Como, Waylon Jennings, Johnny Cash, Dusty Springfield, Johnny Mathis and Frank Sinatra. His 1974 hit Seasons in the Sun, recorded by Terry Jacks, sold more than 14 million copies.
