    Notice of a Town Meeting in Cambridge During the Revolutionary War.
    Two pages, 7.75" x 12.5"; Cambridge; February 23, 1779. A call for a town meeting issued by Andrew Bordman as Town Clerk. The notice lists seven agenda matters, including the election of town officers, and :To choose a committee for the purpose of supplying the families of all noncommissioned officers & private soldiers inlisted from this town (for three years or during the war un the fifteen Battallions raised by this state) with necessaries in a manner directed by a Resolve of the Great & general Court of this state passed 10th October 1777." Another matter on the agenda concerns counterfeit currency, "To see whether the Town will allow Mr. James Munro for Counterfeit money he received as Collector in 1776." Great content regarding the concerns of governing a town during the Revolutionary War. With blind embossed paper seal at top left corner.

    Condition: Flattened folds with minor separations occurring at margins. Some wear and scattered ink stains occurring at time document was written. Light soiling, heavier on verso. With filing docket at bottom on verso.
