Serial #119287 Ideal Excelsior model manufactured in Ste. Croix, Switzerland, 9" nickel plated pinned cylinder plays 6 tunes on a single comb with zither attachment on gilt cast iron bedplate with patented combination tune selector/indicator, and speed moderator, and Jacot safety check, crank wound spring barrel; in oversized American oak case with paneled lid, the front with carved swags, inner protective wood framed glass panel and base with egg and dart moulding.
The 1895 Mermod Frères catalog priced the Ideal Excelsior music box at $112.50.
