Description

LOUISE BEAVERS AUTOGRAPH AND PRODUCTION STILLS..

Please note: Autographs from the Leonard Finger collection have not been autenticated by Spence/Grad but we believe these autographs to be as stated.

Includes Autograph Portrait Signed LOUISE BEAVERS (trimmed 1/4" at bottom, else a fine portrait) together with two 11 x 14" sepia production stills of Beaver in "Chitlin" which ran on the T.O.B.A. Circuit in the 1920s (edge faults, but rare images). The Theatre Owner’s Booking Association (T.O.B.A. or Toby) was a circuit organized to book Black performers into second- tier vaudeville houses, since most were banned from the major theatres. It was derisively called "Tough on Black Artists" because of the low pay, sub-standard theatres, and demeaning conditions the players were subjected to. Sold together with a fine Autograph Portrait Signed JULES BLEDSOE, 11 x 14" with inscription to Hazel Green "The Invincible Personality" (Bledsoe was an original cast member of "Showboat").

The pre and post sales experience was wonderful and flawless. Heritage has the best in-house operation I have ever seen and their people are not only professional but fun to work with, especially Steve C.

As for Heritage's online system… Yes the interface is more complex than what we are used to with SAN but what is behind that interface is amazing for sellers and buyers alike. It is real time and for a real serious auction buyer there is nothing better in the auction industry, bar none.
