    Description

HAROLD LLOYD MOVIE PROMOTION. 11 1/2 x 9" cardboard megaphone issued as a promotion for the Harold Lloyd film "The Freshman" playing at the Strand Theater in Gettysburg. Lloyd started out in silents around 1916, playing a character named "Lonesome Luke". One he developed his persona as the somewhat inept, but good-hearted boy-next-door, his popularity increased dramatically. He is counted, along with Chaplin and Keaton, as one of the three great comedians of the silent screen. "The Freshman" and "Safety Last" were considered his best works. He made his last film in 1947. One minor crease.
