    Wragg & Sons Silver Cutlery Handle "California Hunting Knife".
    A beautiful Bowie-style knife with an 8-inch polished steel clipped-point blade, 12 ¾-inch overall. The lower edge of the obverse blade is engraved with a bust portrait of Zachary Taylor and the caption "Old Zach", and a hunting scene of a mounted hunter and a pack of four dogs chasing a stag; the upper portion of the blade is captioned "California / Hunting Knife" on a banner along with two dogs following an oxen or cow. The ricasso is stamped "WRAGG & SONS / XLNT / FURNACE HILL / SHEFFIELD". Flat oval German silver crossguard. Cutlery handle with raised floral and shell pattern devices. Contained in original brown leather scabbard with gilt trim and German silver mounts. German silver belt stud.
