Very Fine Quality and Condition Iron Mounted European Small Sword C. 1760 27" plain blade fine with nice smooth light gray patina. Absolutely no rust, pitting or nicks. Blade retains the original red wool washer. The iron hilt profusely pierced overall employing floral, geometric and scroll decoration. Grip with silver wire over sheet copper base with woven brass wire at top and bottom, also about perfect. Hilt with capstan and generally smooth and light gray with dark patina in the recesses. Original black leather scabbard with original iron mounts including carrying rings on throat and middle mount. Decorative engraving on top and middle mounts with ball finial on tip of lower mount. Scabbard quite sound and intact with just a few very small spots of flaking. Very fine example for both condition and quality of this classic 18th century sword.

This was my first time dealing with an auction house, and I am 100% completely impressed with Heritage. There is not an aspect of this process that I have a critique for.
