U.S. Model 1860 Naval Cutlass With Attribution to the U.S.S. Constitution. 24 ¾" slightly curved blade with wide fuller. Ricasso marked with small anchor device on the obverse; no markings visible on the reverse. Brass guard with large attached knucklebow and integral pommel cap. Inside of guard marked "1 11 / 137". Grooved hardwood grip lacking the leather covering. Original scabbard has a later repair with a series of brass rivets reinforcing the seam and tip. Old paper labels affixed near the brass stud of the scabbard read "From the Frigate Constitution". The blade has an overall gray patina with significant pitting and spotting. The hilt displays numerous shallow dents. The modified leather scabbard is dry and cracked, otherwise an interesting sword with a potentially interesting history.

This was my first time dealing with an auction house, and I am 100% completely impressed with Heritage. There is not an aspect of this process that I have a critique for.
