    Description

    U.S. Model 1860 Light Cavalry Saber Dated 1864 Manufactured by Ames.
    34 ½" bright curved blade marked "N.J. / U.S. / DR / 1864" on the obverse ricasso and with the Ames, Chicopee logo on the reverse ricasso. Gilded-brass hilt. Pommel stamped "1 / 14". Wire-wrapped leather grips. Iron scabbard with two suspension rings.

    Condition: Very good. Blade with modest staining and small nicks on the cutting edge; hilt tarnished retaining only portions of the original gilt, scabbard dark and with light surface rust.
