    U.S. Model 1852 Staff and Field Officer's Sword , Remington-Beals Navy Percussion Revolver and Flap Holster By Family Tradition Once Owned by U.S. Veteran William "Christmas" Klaxton. Comprising: 1) U.S. Model 1852 Staff and Field Officer's Sword and Scabbard. 31-inch, slightly curved blade, etched with floral scrolls, patriotic panoplies , eagle and "E. Pluribus Unum" riband. Single wide fuller. Ricasso marked: Schnitzler/ &/Kirschbaum/Solingen. Standard pattern brass guard, pierced with floral blossoms, the top side of oval pommel engraved with Union shield and laurel leaves. Wire-wrapped rayskin grip. Contained in original leather scabbard with brass furniture and two hanging rings. 2) Remington-Beals Navy Percussion Revolver. Serial no. 9331, .36 caliber, 7 ½-inch blued octagonal barrel with standard two-line address. Brown finished frame. Brass triggerguard. Bright yellow ivoroid grips. Contained in original military style black leather flap holster with brass stud closure. Single belt loop sewn on back. Condition: Sword: Good. Blade showing light cleaning, wear and grey age patina. Hilt with slightly bent quillon, wear and age patina overall. Scabbard very good for this type item, with light surface checking and wear present. Revolver: Fair as completely refinished. Retaining approximately 85% of a later blue and brown refinish with wear to relief edges. Hammer spur shortened. Grips are later period incorrect replacements and right grip showing large chip to butt. Action very good. Holster: Very good. Showing minor surface checking and cracking with light wear present.
