    U.S. Model 1850 Staff & Field Officer's Sword with Scabbard. 32 1/2-inch unmarked, slightly curved blade with single wide fuller. Ricasso with inlaid circular escutcheon marked: PROVED. Brass three-bar guard pierced with floral scrolls. Single knucklebow. Fishskin wrapped ribbed wooden grip. Oval pommel with eagle surrounded by 13 stars. Black leather scabbard with two ring brass mounts and drag. Condition: Fair. Metal with wear, pitting and age patina. Hilt with age wear and patina. Grip lacking wire wrap. Scabbard with heavy wear and checking. Drag with dents and wear.
