    Description

    U.S. Model 1840 Light Artillery Saber. 32 ¼" curved bright blade marked "D.R. / 1863" on the obverse ricasso and a faint Ames company address on the reverse ricasso. Brass guard and pommel with wire-wrapped leather grips. Iron scabbard with two suspension rings. Scabbard is browned with some light surface pitting, otherwise the sword is in very good condition.
