US M1860 Light Cavalry Saber Mansfied & Lamb. Blade with smooth dark patina. No pitting or nicks, and just some very light, negliigible, easily cleaned, surface rust, just two small dents near the tip. Marked "U.S. / J.M. / 1864" on obverse ricasso and "MANSFIELD / & LAMB / FORESTDALE" in oval on reverse. Outward branch on the guard slightly bent with a 1/4" crack where it joins the hilt. Hilt otherwise perfect with nice dark patina. Leather wrap on grip very good with just one chip by the pommel and age hairline on reverse but very sound. Brass wire wrap perfect. Scabbard really excellent with just some very light surface rust, easily cleaned, and overall smooth dark patina with absolutely no dents or pitting.

From the estate of Houston collector Brent Burg.
