    U.S. M1832 General & Staff Officer's Sword by Ames. Pure regulation example with 30 1/2" blade with deep narrow central fuller. Very fine condition retaining some mint luster with classic etched pattern including extensive floral/scroll work with central theme of American eagle with engraved riband above on obverse and similar etching with central theme of an extensive arms panoply on the reverse. The reverse of the blade includes the engraved Ames logo, Chicopee, in a panel at the base. Regulation hilt about perfect, retaining 80% of the original gilt. Very fine example of this scarce regulation US sword. There is no scabbard.
