    Description

    U.S. Cavalry Saber, Starr Contract of 1812-1813. 33 ½" clipped-point blade marked "P / HHP / N. STARR" on the obverse ricasso. Iron knuckle bow, quillon, and back strap with a wooden grip. Iron scabbard with two mounting rings. The blade has been lightly sharpened and has surface rust and scratches from scabbard wear. The wood grip is cracked and the iron fittings are moderately pitted. The scabbard has several large dents near the drag and is uniformly pitted. Lacking reverse throat screw.
