Untouched Desirable Form Civil War Confederate Foot Artillery Sword. 23 5/8" overall with 18 1/8" flat double edged blade, flaring slightly to 2 1/4" wide at the base. Blade overall with deep dark patina, some very minor old scattered surface rust and a few very small patches of light pitting. Also a few minor edge nicks that detract nothing. Classic hilt in the form of the US M1833 but without iron rivets and large "C" "S" on each end of the cross guard on both sides. Hilt overall excellent with deep dark untouched patina. Very nice untouched example of this quintessentially Confederate example of a Confederate sword.

From the estate of Houston collector Brent Burg.

This was my first time dealing with an auction house, and I am 100% completely impressed with Heritage. There is not an aspect of this process that I have a critique for.
