    WWII Signed Japanese Army Officers' Sword Captured at Iwo Jima. 26-inch bright blade with cloudy temper line; 37-inches overall. Blade with fullers running to within one inch of the tip. Two holes on the tang. Cloth-wrapped ray skin handle. Open brass tsuba with four cherry blossom design. Brown-painted scabbard with single mounting ring. A small paper tag measuring 3 ¼ x 2 ¼-inches with the typed caption: "This sword was captured / by USMC soldier at the / Battle of Iwo Jima / April 1945. and / my husband Col. Brown. / Mrs. Brown." accompanies the sword.

    Condition: Excellent. A couple of blemishes on the obverse side of the blade and modest scabbard storage wear. Scabbard retains approximately 70% original paint.
