Marked on obverse ricasso "US / JF / 1865" and on reverse with Ames scroll logo. Blade retains the original leather washer. Hilt about perfect with nice patina. Grip and wire wrap also perfect. Scabbard near perfect retaining 98% of a period blue/gray finish with just one tiny dent and small area with some very light surface rust, easily cleaned. Missing the throat screw. Very nice sword.
