    U.S.N. Ames 1862 Naval Cutlass with Scabbard.

    26-inch curved blade with 18-inch fuller. Ricasso marked: (anchor) / U.S.N. / D.R. / 1862 and N.J. / AMES MFG. CO. / CHICOPEE / MASS. Brass guard with riveted knucklebow. Wire-wrapped leather handle. Brass tipped leather scabbard. Rare and exceptional example of very collectable Ames Naval wartime cutlass.

    Condition: Very good. Overall showing scattered areas of handling wear, age and patches of pitting. Noticeable cracking to leather.
