    Description

    U.S. Model 1860 Naval Cutlass. 26" slightly curved blade marked "U.S.N. / D. R. / 1862" on the obverse ricasso. Faint Ames maker's mark on the reverse ricasso. The cutlass is sold with an incorrect leather French scabbard. The grip is lacking much of the leather covering and the blade has scattered areas of pitting and a few small nicks on the edge. The brass guard displays a several shallow dents. Good condition.
