    Description

    U.S. Model 1860 Naval Cutlass. 24 1/2-inch slightly curved blade with wide fuller starting 5 1/2-inches from the tip. Ricasso is stamped, "U.S.N./D.R./186?" Reverse with consignor's 317 in red. Oval brass guard with large riveted knucklebow attached. Inside of guard stamped, "B.T./16/466." Leather and wire wrapped grip. Brass pommel cap. Condition: Very good as cleaned. Blade a shiny gray patina with large patches of pitting visible. Scattered nicks. Blade not quite true. Brass shows polishing with numerous nicks and dents. Grip good retaining all of the wire wrap. Minor scuffs.
