    U.S. Model 1860 Light Cavalry Saber Manufactured by Roby.
    34 1/2-inch bright slightly curved steel blade with 12-inch false edge. Ricasso marked: C. ROBY /W. CHELMSFORD /MS. Reverse marked: US/1863 below inspector's initial M. Leather washer present. Standard three-bar brass guard. Leather grip with wire wrap. Circular pommel. Contained in original, unmarked steel scabbard with two hangers.


    Condition: Very Good to fine. Steel with a smooth, mottled gray-brown patina and scattered spotting. Two minor nicks to edge. Grip is fine with only minor scuffs. Scabbard free of dents and with age wear and patina. Small tape residue between hangers. A fine example from a desirable maker.
