    Description

    U.S. Model 1860 Light Cavalry Saber Dated 1860 Manufactured by Ames. 35" slightly curved blade marked "U.S. / J.T. /1860" on the obverse ricasso and with the Ames Chicopee, Mass. address on the reverse ricasso. Leather grip cracked and lacking the majority of the wire wrapping. Blade with a smooth gray patina with a few light nicks on the edge. Scabbard with scattered light pitting and shows evidence of an old applied paint. Rare to find this model with an 1860 date. Very good condition.
