    Description

    U.S. Model 1840 Non-Commissioned Officers' Sword. 32-inch straight, bright blade marked "US / HC / 186?" (last number illegible) on the ricasso. Gilded-brass hilt. Circular metal property disk marked "17" attached to guard and scabbard. Black leather scabbard with brass mounts. With what appears to be a non-regulation brown leather frog.

    Condition: Very good. The sword with only some light wear and tarnishing from storage. Leather scabbard is scuffed and appears to have an old repair about 4-inches above the lower brass mount.
