    U.S. Model 1840 Musicians' Sword Manufactured by Ames. 28 ¼" straight, bright blade marked "U.S. / A.D.K. / 1864" on the obverse ricasso and with the Ames company information on the reverse ricasso. Brass hilt, guard and grip of imitation wire wrapping. Leather scabbard with brass throat and drag (inspector marked "G.W.C.". Scabbard residue on blade otherwise a nice example in very good condition.
