    U.S. Model 1840 Heavy Cavalry Saber Manufactured by P. S. Justice. 35 ½" slightly curved blade marked "P.S. Justice / Philad" on the reverse ricasso. Wire-wrapped leather grip with brass pommel and guard. Metal scabbard with two suspension rings. Bright blade; wire wrapping remains but leather is lacking; scabbard with a few deep dents, otherwise in very good condition.
