    Description

    U.S. Model 1840 Cavalry Saber Dated 1851. 35" slightly curved blade with a faint Philadelphia distributor's mark on the reverse ricasso and the date "1851" on the obverse ricasso. Grip looks to have been recovered and rewrapped. Pommel with threaded post extending out ½" and secured with a threaded nut. Blade dark from scabbard storage; iron scabbard with some light surface rust, otherwise very good condition.
