    U.S. Medical Service Staff Officer's Sword with Scabbard. 29-inch standard pattern straight blade etched with floral scrolls, American flag motifs and the legend: Medical Staff. Sculpted brass hilt with shield-shaped languets, the reverse with appliqued letters M.S. [Medical Staff], garland swag borders and six stars with relief carved floral scroll crossguard. One-piece grip of standard form with raised American eagle motifs and floral ferrule. Acorn type finial. Contained in original factory blued steel scabbard with embossed brass mountings, all with laurel bows and floral borders. Three ring hangers. Private inventory number written on languet with white ink. Condition: Fine. Blade fine with light wear overall. Scabbard with some wear and minor rust spotting on body of scabbard. A handsome and scarce example.
