Unsigned American Silver Hilted Hunting Sword C. 1770. 22" plain blade with 1 1/2" plain ricasso. The balance of the blade utilizes two narrow fullers with the one fuller terminating in a 7 1/2" false edge with the other fuller running open to the tip. Blade generally smooth and gray with just a few minor edge nicks and some scattered salt and peppering. The hilt fabricated entirely of silver. Large clamshell guard with radiating incised line decoration. The clamshell is cast integral with a small oval crossguard with beaded design around the top. The D shaped knucklebow with incised line decoration in the center, and upturned quillon also with incised line decoration attached to an incised line base attached at the top of the oval counterguard/clamshell. The knucklebow tapers dramatically as it enters the hilt but incorporates a small incise line decorated protrusion at that point. Dome shaped pommel with deep incised line decoration and capstan. There is a 3/8" incise line decorated ferrule at the base. Hilt overall near perfect with just one tiny bend in the knuckle bow. The sword is overall absolutely completely unmarked. A very pretty little sword and a nice example of an American hunting sword from the pre-Revolutionary period.

This was my first time dealing with an auction house, and I am 100% completely impressed with Heritage. There is not an aspect of this process that I have a critique for.
