    Description

    Thomas Griswold Confederate Naval Short Sword.
    The maker's mark on the ricasso reads "Thomas Griswold & Co New Orleans " and is completely legible. Overall with a fine patina and no blemishes. An American eagle with shield is on either side of the the ball pommel and the handle in a popular 19th century Roman style brass fish scale design. Manufactured between 1861 and 1862 and in beautiful condition.
