Revolutionary War Officer's Short Saber Of a form used by both British and American officers. 27 1/4" curved blade with moderate pitting overall. There is a shallow central fuller that runs the length of the blade, with a narrow fuller along the top running to within 8" of the tip. Brass hilt with elongated ball pommel and capstan. The guard spits into two branches at the base with a spoke on either side of the base of the grip, and exhibits some deep line engraved decoration at the quillon.. There is a small 'bump' in the knucklebow near the pommel which is pierced and carries a small iron ring, doubtless for knot. Checkered and fluted ivory grip with decorative 3/8" brass ferrule at the base. Hilt with deep dark patina, the grip is perfect showing no obvious sign of age, although careful examination of the tang clearly shows the sword has not been disassembled.
Nice representative example of this very popular Revolutionary War form.

The pre and post sales experience was wonderful and flawless. Heritage has the best in-house operation I have ever seen and their people are not only professional but fun to work with, especially Steve C.

As for Heritage's online system… Yes the interface is more complex than what we are used to with SAN but what is behind that interface is amazing for sellers and buyers alike. It is real time and for a real serious auction buyer there is nothing better in the auction industry, bar none.
